  1. Riddell Sporting Goods model AL jockstrap with mesh pouch. Riddell is the manufacturer of many types of professional sports equipment including football helmets and shoulder pads.
  2. The Rombo jockstrap is very similar in design to the ProSport above. It has a pouch made of a very soft cotton. The elastic legstraps are covered with the same soft material. Made in Great Britain.
  3. Designed for team sports, the Ross athletic supporter has a heavy-duty 3" surgical elastic waistband and rolled leg straps.
  4. The RYM athletic supporter features an extremely soft elastic waistband and CoolMax pouch. Made in U.S.A.
  5. Blue SafeTGard supporter with gold and grey tracer lines around the waistband. SafeTGard ... "Specialized Athletic Protection."
  6. SAI No. 68 men's supporter ... "The Professional's Choice."
  7. SAI Pro Care men's supporter by Kemfast, Granite Falls, NC.
  8. Sears standard athletic supporter from Sears, Roebuck and Company, circa 1960. VIEW BOX
  9. Sears wide-band supporter.
  10. Softouch men's athletic supporter from Softouch Company, Inc., Hollywood, FL.
  11. The SMC No. 10 cotton supporter from the early 1960s. It has a 3" elastic waistband with one red tracer line. From the looks of the staining on the pouch, this was obviously a favorite of the previous owner.
  12. This Spartan jock was also an obvious favorite of the previous owner.
  13. A. C. Spalding & Bros. began producing athletic supporters like this Spalding Improved Supporter in 1876. Dated to the late 1800s, this is one of the older athletic supporters in my private collection.
  14. Swimmer/jogger jockstrap from Spalding has a narrow 1" signature waistband and tubular understraps.
  15. The Spalding style SJ-130 athletic supporter for all sports has a non-curl 3" woven elastic waistband, non-curl leg support comfort straps and a contour pouch. From Ruby International, Inc., NYC. VIEW BOX
  16. Sportsman jock made by Sportsman's Enterprises, Elkhart, IN.
  17. This bright red Sportjock is from Techspand, Inc., Wellesley, MA.
  18. Another regular band Sportjock with single black and grey tracer lines around the 3" elastic waistband.
  19. The Stafford Sport athletic supporter made for JCPenney.
  20. Star No. 102 supporter with blue tracer lines around waistband, on the legstraps and down both sides of the pouch.

  22. The SunMark swimmer supporter from American SunMark Co., San Francisco, CA, is designed for maximum comfort and support. Recommended to use during athletics and other strenuous activities. VIEW BOX
  23. This is the SunMark regular band supporter from McKesson Home Health Care, San Francisco, CA. It has a 3" elastic waistband and a soft textured nylon pouch.
  24. Australian Super No. 13 athletic support is made by Greatorex Pty. Ltd., Oakleigh South, Australia.
  25. Super Dog S'porter No. 400A. Made in Thailand.
  26. The Supreme athletic supporter features a 2½" elastic waistband with two very thin blue tracer lines.
  27. The Swim Strap with its thin waistband and legstraps was designed to be "undetectable under swimwear." These were sold in the early 1960s by Regency Square.
  28. The Tensor jock brief has a full seat which provides the coverage of underwear with the support of a jockstrap.
  29. Thai Metal Cup groin guard offers maximum protection for the "family jewels." Heavy cord, tied in the back, replaces the typical elastic waistband and legstraps.
  30. The Torch No. 999 Supporter from Shanghai, China. It has a comfortable pouch that is made of the same elastic material as the waistband. The end of the box is marked "Size Middle." VIEW BOX
  31. J. C. Penney Towncraft jockstrap was sold in the 1950s and 1960s (this was before it became JCPenney).
  32. This early J. C. Penney Towncraft jockstrap with two red tracer lines around a 3" heavy elastic waistband and nice cotton pouch.
  33. This cotton Towncraft supporter sold at Penny's for $1.00.
  34. Tru-Fit athletic supporter with breathable mesh pouch. This jock was sold at K-Mart Stores in the U.S. VIEW BOX

  37. American-made Tru-Play No. 6 mens athletic supporter with soft breathable mesh pouch.
  38. Umbro jockstrap with a 1½" elastic waistband and perforated pouch ... "The Choice of Champions."
  39. The Umbro jockstrap has a 3" elastic waistband, red and blue tracer lines and a mesh pouch. VIEW BOX
  40. A Wilson model E1015 all-purpose men's supporter. Note that the back of the box includes information on why men should wear a supporter as well as washing instructions. VIEW BOX
  41. This is the only unknown brand supporter in my collection with a box that says nothing about the manufacturer. Notice the mesh pouch which is very similar to the TruFit pouch. VIEW BOX
  42. An unknown brand supporter. The only wording is on the front label, "Nylon Sewn L Support."
  43. This unknown brand jockstrap has a heavy waistband and comfortable contoured pouch.
  44. Unknown brand all-cotton jockstrap with one blue-grey tracer line around the waistband.
  45. Unknown brand all-cotton V-front supporter with 3" elastic waistband.
  46. Unknown brand jockstrap made of non-elastic webbing. There is a small strip of elastic in the back of the waistband and on the legstraps where they attach to the pouch.
  47. Unknown brand supporter with 3" waistband and extra-wide 3" leg straps!
  48. Another unknown brand jock with rib-knit pouch, covered elastic waistband and ½" elastic legstraps. This comfortable American-made supporter is 95% cotton, 5% Lycra.
  49. U.S.M.C. No. 10 athletic supporter made for the Marine Corps by Bike.
  50. U.S. military "supporter, athletic, type 1, class 1" manufactured for the military by Owenby Mfg. Co.
  51. This unusual U.S. military Pugilist jockstrap was used to train hand-to-hand combat techniques. A magnesium cup sewn inside the apron front stops nearly everything. Unlike a traditional jockstrap, this one threads under the crotch like underwear, but is usually worn over shorts or pants. The heavy O.D. canvas apron was tied around the waist (as shown here) or attached to a shoulder harness.
  52. U.S. UnderSports Jock has a regular waistband with a thin but very stretchy pouch.
  53. U.S. UnderSports Jock Brief combines the support of a jockstrap with the seat protection of a brief.
  54. U.S. UnderSports "The Sock" from Undergear. No legstraps ... just a waistband and pouch!
  55. This Uriel No. 55 athletic supporter was sent to me by a visitor from Israel. Made of non-irritating cotton, it has green tracer lines around the waistband and a very comfortable fitted pouch.
  56. The Winner's Choice deluxe athletic supporter from Village Craft Industries, Inc.
  57. Weidercare athletic supporter from the bodybuilding experts.
  58. Winn Well athletic supporter from Wellinger & Dunn Leather Goods, Toronto, Canada.

  61. Wilson Pro Staff abdominal athletic supporter with 6" waistband from Martin Manufacturing, Piedmont, SC. It features "Fleshelastic" tubular understraps and is made of genuine surgical elastic and Durabilknit. VIEW BOX
