  1. Another Champion sports supporter, this one from Champion Division of Surgical Appliance, Inc., Ripley, OH. A soft textured pouch and tubular non-roll legstraps make this a very comfortable supporter. VIEW BOX
  2. 1993 model of the Champion adult supporter from Champion Underwear, Winston-Salem, NC. Champion has made athletic clothing since the 1920s.
  3. Champion sports brief from the 1960s. Support briefs such as this one were the "bridge" between the wearing of jockstraps and the use of compression shorts for many sports activities.

  6. Classic supporter made by Bryan J. Flaherty Co. Bryan was the son of John B. Flaherty who's company made the famous "Bub" line of supporters.
  7. This jockstrap from Cooks Sporting Goods, Albuquerque, NM, has the name Mike P. written in red on the front label.
  8. Cooper Weeks supporter with a tight mesh pouch from Canadian sporting goods manufacturer Cooper-Weeks Ltd.

  10. The Credalast athletic supporter is manufactured in the United Kingdom.
  11. This is the D&M No. 90 supporter from Japan. This cotton jock features a heavy surgical elastic waistband with two sets of red, gold and blue tracer lines and a very comfortable elastic pouch.

  18. The Duke athletic support brief. The special weave in the material acts as a "wick" to absorb perspiration and pull it away from the body.

  20. Excel swimmer supporter from McKesson Corp. This supporter features a 1¼" lightweight nylon elastic waistband, 1¼" leg straps and a soft textured nylon pouch. Designed for optimum comfort and support during swimming and other strenuous activities.
  21. Excel sports supporter from McKesson Corp. This is one of those fine old cotton supporters with a 3" cotton waistband and non-roll tubular legstraps. VIEW BOX

  26. The FitsRite athletic supporter (jock strap) for all sports was manufactured by FitsRite Products Co., 13 to 21 East 22nd Street, New York City, USA. It probably dates from the early 1940s. VIEW BOX
  27. Flaherty's "Bub" Duribilknit No. 05 "freshly knitted athletic supporter." A very sturdy jockstrap made of genuine surgical elastic. VIEW BOX AND TAG
  28. Flaherty's "Bub" Duribilknit No. 61 athletic supporter from the mid-1950s. The label on the front of the waistband says that it "will outlast 3 low price supports!"
  29. The "Bub" Duribilknit No. 78 abdominal supporter from J. B. Flaherty Co. has a 10" waistband with metal stays to prevent curling. The tubular non-roll legstraps and vertical fly pouch are completely detachable from the waistband. The olive green surgical elastic used by Flaherty was a trademark of their supporters in the early years.

  32. The new generation "Bub" abdominal supporter with an extra-wide 10" waistband and vertical fly opening in the pouch. Made by Martin Manufacturing Company, makers of supporters under the Wilson Sporting Goods name.
  33. Flarico No. 40 wide-band supporter made by John B. Flaherty Co.
  34. The Flarico No. 47 swimmer supporter from the 1950s.

  37. This is the newer version of the Flarico No. 110 from the early 1980s. It has yellow and black tracer lines around a 3" elastic waistband and flat elastic leg straps.
  38. Flarico Jay Bee athletic supporter made by "John B. Flaherty Co. since 1898." Flaherty is the same company that made the famous "Bub" supporters shown above.

  41. A newer version of the Franklin athletic supporter from Franklin Sports Inc., Stoughton, MA. Three-inch "performance" waistband and breathable pouch for superior fit and comfort.

  43. Underwear manufacturer Fruit of the Loom introduced this men's athletic supporter in the early 1960s. VIEW HANG TAG
  44. Fur-Line athletic supporter with black and gold tracer lines around a 3" waistband from Martin Inc., Greenville, SC.
  45. This rare Fur-Line MGuard athletic supporter was a gift from a site visitor from Iowa. Notice the printing on the back of the waistband supporting the University of Iowa "Hawkeyes." VIEW BOX
  46. Futuro All American swimmer supporter dated 1980. The back of the box lists several reasons for wearing an athletic supporter including "To confine the genitals, holding them out of harm's way from external contact" and "To lift, support and snug the testicles against the body." VIEW BOX

  53. Futuro Van-Gard wide band supporter with four metal ribs to keep the waistband from curling.
  54. Futuro Van-Gard 10 Supporter Belt No. 82 with a 10" waistband and detachable fly pouch and leg straps. A form for ordering additional pouches and straps was included in the box. VIEW BOX
  55. Another version of the Futuro Van-Gard 10 Supporter Belt with a 10" waistband. The pouch does not detach from this model.
  56. Futuro Wide Band Supporter No. 76 is similar to the Van-Gard.

  59. The Grid jockstrap, made by Grid Sports, Cincinnati, OH, is one of the most comfortable for long-term wear. Grid began producing supporters in 1935.
  60. 1989 Grid narrow band supporter from Grid, Inc., Pompano Beach, FL, is ideal for swimming, jogging and track. It has a 1¼" waistband and 1" tubular leg straps. The woven pouch supports and holds the genitals against the body to protect them from external contact and possible injury.
  61. According to the box, the Guardsman No. 37 "provides comfortable support and protects the 'sensitive zone' against strain and painful blows." Distributed by Hall's Albany Drug Company, Albany, NY. VIEW BOX
  62. Underwear manufacturer Healthknit produced this athletic supporter in the 1950s and 60s.
  63. The Heart of Texas was called the "World's Best Jock Strap" by it's manufacturer, Heart of Texas Sportswear.
