Subject: Loaner Jocks at the Gym
I realize this probably wont fill up anytime soon but I wanted to share a heavenly experience I had a couple months ago.
I live in Orange county, CA. I was on instagram a few months ago when I saw a post a guy had made of a picture of a shelving unit in a gym that had loaner workout gear, he was making fun of the fact that they had loaner jocks. This instantly sent a shock of excitement right through me, as he had posted an address to where he had seen them. The post said it was a YMCA on the southern most side of LA County. I drove there like a mad man, got inside with a 7day visitors pass. I search the place high and low for this shelving unit as the guy hadn't said where he found the shelf inside them facility. I left very dissapointed and dreamt of this imaginary place where guys could borrow jocks for the day.
Fast forward 3 months:
I was out jockstrap shopping as I do quite often, I decided to lookup the word jockstrap on yelp and lone behold there was a similar picture to the one I saw on instagram of this shelf with hundreds of loaner jocks and a different address to a YMCA in downtown LA. I instantly jumped in the car and made the 45minute drive. I walked in and presented yet another 7 day pass, proceeded to the locker room, opened the door and there it was!!! A shelf full of Duke jockstraps, shorts, shirts, and socks behind a counter, available to borrow for the day. I had a hard time controlling my excitement, when I rounded the corner I saw 20 guys in jockstraps standing at their lockers like a scene out of the 1960's. I stood there for a second before realizing I looked like a creeper. I approached the desk and there was no attendant, never having been there before I wasn't sure if I was supposed to pick out what I needed or if someone was supposed to help me. I proceeded to just go behind the desk and pick out a few jocks some shorts and a shirt and find a locker. Having always wanted to hangout in a locker room in just a jockstrap I took off all my clothes and pulled on my loaner jock, there was a TV room in the locker room where guys were hanging out in jocks like mine watching football, i joined them for a bit before checking out the rest of the locker room. There's a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and open shower room, all with signs all around that said clothing prohibited in these areas. At this point I was in heaven, I was standing in a locker room straight out of a fantasy inside my mind. I spent 7 hours there that day, in and out of my jock, grabbing a new one each time.
I ended up leaving that day the happiest man I had been in so long. I may have also left with a few suveneirs I had found in the used gear bins. That feeling you get when you've just had really awesome sex.
So this was kind of a story, ill try to get it posted in the stories area but, I wanted to see if any of you know of other gyms or places like this that exist. I would love to hear of places that have loaner jockstraps these days, i'm sure it was quite common 20-30 years ago.
Also, im willing to share the location of this YMCA in LA, but Im concerned that it will get kind of over run and cruisy, I really like the fact that its not that way. If you want the address, feel free to email me at jockstrapbro1@gmail.com.

Buddy, I love hearing this. The first Yelp review that mentions the loaner jockstraps is from 2006!
If even a quarter of the guys are walking around in jockstraps, it's truly an amazing facility.

Subject: Loaners at the gym
A local university has a fitness center (Dalplex) open to students, faculty and public by membership. A few years ago while visiting the area, I took the opportunity to use the center. As part of the membership services, you could also rent a towel, t-shirt, shorts, socks, and an Olympia brand jockstrap. The locker room is huge with many lockers, a large open gang shower room but a rather small dry sauna. While there I noticed a black teenager changing and struggling to pack his rather large package into the pouch of his rented jockstrap. Later on I decided to try out the small sauna and was seated next to this same teenager. At first glance I could not figure out why the teenager was all humped over. I soon discovered why after my eyes adjusted to the dim light. He was sporting a huge hard on up to his belly button and was trying to hide it. It was a very memorable visit! |

Subject: Jockstrap loaners....
I used to work out as a kid and swim at a pool at Princeton University. They had loaner jocks there, Bike Swimmer jocks to be specific. At 13, That was my first jock experience and my first sex too.
Now I live elsewhere and always have a handfull of spare jocks in my gym bag. In the last year, I have ended up loaning them out to guys. I was about the only guy there who wore one. Then another guy in his 20's showed up with lemon size balls and a fat cock. He wore one too, for obvious reasons. That aside, more guys have asked about them and borrowed them and bought their own as a result.
Last night, I gave one away, a Duke swimmer to a friend's son to keep his tool pointed up. Brought back the memory of wearing my first one back in Princeton and how it hid my constant erections. |

There were many times I would find a guys jockstrap in there. Of course you were not supposed to take any of the clothing....but I am sure a few of those jockstraps disappeared. My Y also has 2 saunas, 2 steam rooms a 5 man hot tub, 13 man gang shower and a large lounge area. It is so nice to be in an atmosphere were guys can be naked and not worry about it. |

The old downtown Houston Y, before they tore it down and built a new one, had a clothing room full of shirts, shorts, socks and jocks. I believe there were five bins from S-XXL for the jocks. Duke was the dominant brand with an occasional Bike or Pro Down that you knew had been left in the locker room and thrown into the mix. The clothing room was in HUGE demand by downtown workers who would come in groups from the office, all swipe their cards to get into the room, go through the line, back out of the room to swipe their cards again to enter the hallway into the locker rooms, which entered eventually into the gym—all the guys talking while doing this. Not uncommon for the L and M jocks gone or to see guys walking with their clothes with the jocks in plain sight in the hallways.
In the locker room, it was a very nude and jock friendly locker room—by far the most jock wearing population I’ve ever seen in my life. The locker room itself was multiple levels—main level, mid level, downstairs and a downstairs-upstairs only accessible from the downstairs. Thousands of lockers. Four large gang showers, multiple dry and wet saunas, multiple hot tubs with one hot tub in a glassed room that could hold easily 30 guys with space for guys to stretch in the warm wet room. Lounge area and even massage room with masseur. Lots of guys running around naked, in jocks, in underwear—you name it.
There were bins at the ends of locker rows for towels, jocks and clothing. Many times while throwing in items, a jock would fall on the floor. Not uncommon for multiple jocks to be left all over the place after a rush. The Y did do a great job with attendants trying to keep pace, but there were many times laundry would get backed up and if you were in the downstairs shower or hot tub, you’d have to walk through the mid level to the upper level to find a towel.
It was an awesome experience and paying an extra $15 a month for access to the clothing was well worth the money.

Subject: School and YMCA provided jocks
in the 50's and 60's it wasn't uncommon for schools to provide freshly laundered PE uniforms for students. Typically, boys provided only their gym shoes and when entering class they went to laundry bins to grab size sorted shirts, shorts, socks and jocks.
In more recent years the tradition continued in college PE classes, with students grabbing a "towel roll" containing the gym uniform.
I did come across a current era photo showing YMCA provided gym clothes, sorted by size on locker room shelving. Interestingly, jocks are still provided.

Subject: At the Poly
Polytechnics in the UK are now mostly universities. In the 1980s, gym was free for students and staff. I picked up a jockstrap, left in the locker I used for one visit. I now leave the occasional jockstrap in my gym locker, to Share The Love to millenials. More recently, an asian guy checked me out while I used the gang shower, surprised at finding a cut english man among universally uncut gym users. Another time, a guy looked on top of the lockers and found a dusty jockstrap as his reward. |

These stories are great! The first one is fantastic!
About 15 years ago I went to the YMCA with my dad near Burbank, California. They served the whole family like most modern Y's, but the large locker room, showers, weights, TV lounge, steam room section was just for men.
Most guys wore shorts in the workout area, but there was nakedness and some jockstraps in the sauna and lounge, etc. Men felt pretty free their and seemed to take advantage of being seen, seeing others, and feeling accepted as men.
My dad was a jock man all his life. He was not in athletic shape any more and did not hang-out in his jock. But he wanted me to.
I first saw him admiring me in the showers. I looked fit like he used to, and I felt that he was living his dreams again through me. He watched me changing in and our of my jock more than once. I took my time and enjoyed the free setting. I was wearing a wide waist band BIKE.
Once when I was standing in just my jock he said, "Come over here right now, just like that. I want you to meet my friend".
So I joined them in the weight room in just my jock. He paraded me around showing me off to his different friends. Then he instructed me to spend time in the lounge and steam room "just as I was" (meaning only in my jock).
I will never forget how affirming it was to have my dad admiring his son, and showing me off, and IN JUST A JOCKSTRAP.
Then when we went home he had me try on his collection of jockstraps, to see how each brand fit my athletic body. That took about 45 minutes as he saw how I adjusted my cock in each different pouch.
My dad was a 100% straight alpha male. Don't conclude anything else. He wore jockstraps because it was what manly men did in his time. We were bonding like he did with his pals in the great jock era. I could feel that for a dad who came from a jockstrap wearing generation, it was cool to share the joy of wearing a jock with his son. I wore jockstraps as he did, so it must have been gratifying to be "like father, like son". It was validating for me.
When I reminded him of this years later. I told him it was a great father-son moment. But he denied remembering it. I think he must have been crossing what he thought to be social boundaries, and this much intimacy might have been "taboo". So he compartmentalized it in his brain in order to do this.
But I didn't forget it. It will always be my favorite moment with the man whose loins I came from. |

Subject: At the YMCA
I have been going to the local YMCA for years. They never had loaner jockstraps but they used to have a drying room for you to dry out your sweaty clothing. It was off the swimming pool lobby and anyone could use it. It was like a sauna and it had hooks around all the walls. There were many times I went in the drying room and saw a guys jockstrap drying. I would not be surprised if some guys lost jockstraps by leaving them in there too long. Unfortunately they closed the drying rom and converted it to a unisex changing room when they put an addition on the building. |

until very recently the equinox gym in rockefeller center used to give our loaner workout clothes: t shirt, shorts, socks, and jocks. They just stopped in the last few months. I have a few beat up old martin and bike jocks that I "accidently" took home with me....theyre some of my favorite jocks, because they're so broken in, and i love knowing they had so many other guys manhood in them over the years. |

Found a place that still does this. It's amazing. The jocks are old Bikes that are completely worn in from being washed 100s of times and worn by 100s of men. |

Subject: Loaner jocks and gear in gyms
I think this WAS a standard service at gyms and athletic clubs in city center's and business districts... Lots of business men didn't carry gym bags with them to work. If a man wanted to grab a workout at lunch, they could simply put their business attire (including their jocks) in a locker and suit up in full kit provided by the gym. Shower up, put your business duds back on, and pitch the sweaty workout gear in the dirty clothes bin in the locker room.
Back in the day, guys didn't give this practice a second thought... Same time frame that men swam naked, and everyone showered. Now ever guy carries their own stuff in a gym bag.

In the story above, that's how it was. We all saw each other. I never see any men naked any more. They even have partitions on the urinals.
I told my buddy, "If you come over to my house and I am in the shower, come in and talk to me. It's normal to see each other. We don't need to have a lot of drama about it." |
