Subject: BIKE Brand is back
It seems BIKE is back. I’m surprised that no one has posted this yet. They are already selling a new Bike #10, the pouch material looks a bit like the Omtex ACE but without as much bulge enhancement in the shape. What I don’t like about the jockstraps based on the photos of the models is that the pouch looks like it is back to the old days when the BIKE pouches were way too long.
In addition to jockstraps, the seem to have short, tshirts and caps.

They also have what appears to me to be the 2” version of the GYM jockstrap but without the enhancements made in the GYM 2.0 jockstraps.

Subject: THE NEW BIKES

I will be anxious to get a report on how the new BIKE pouch actually fits. It would be a shame if they went back to the extra long pouches of the last 30 years, when the GYM 2.0 has corrected that.

I see that they do not have the gray waist band in the 3" model.

I do not blame the BIKE company for asking Allkink to remove references to them. This site has allowed porn photos that even some gays find disgusting. Look at the top row of today's photos. The guy wearing a BIKE is cumming through a brown stained pouch.

This has turned a generation of young athletes away from jockstraps as a gay perversion thing. And this makes it difficult for those of us who are seen wearing jockstraps. The sad thing about this is that many young men would like to wear jockstraps, or they wouldn't come to the website trying to learn.

After looking at the website there are two different pouch fabrics shown on the wideband jocks on two different shots. Hopefully they match the style on the grey band jocks with the rubber ribs thru the mesh pouch like before. The wide band looks a lot like a Golberg with the 1 inch leg straps and the poly weave pouch.

You are right about the pouches. You are a good detective. You know your jocks. I like the looks of the rib-type pouch on the gray jock, better than the waffled-look of the white jock. But the puffy waffled-type can fit good. The more important issue is how long the pouch extends back between your legs (where you don't want it.)

If someone tries them, give us a report.

I wonder who is making them? Are they using the same manufacturer as GYM JOCK is using? Whoever it is must intentionally be reaching out to old time BIKE fans, because they sell the T-shirts too.

Long ago some of the jockstrap companies made jocks that had all the stretch width-wise, not the long ways (up and down). It held everyone's stuff up high. If you needed more room it stretched from side to side, but kept everything high. PRIAPE still does that. Great athletic support.

I wonder why someone would bother to buy the BIKE Company when the GYM JOCK is making the same thing, even better? Are they trying to tap into the jockstrap resurgence among the pro athletes? In contrast to the "gay fetish" reputation that has hijacked the jockstrap world???

Does anyone know why the STORIES stopped and almost no one comes to the FORUM anymore? Is everyone going to a new web site for jock talk? If so, what is the appeal?

Subject: REPORT ON THE NEW BIKES

I got a preliminary report on the new BIKES from a friend who bought the so called "Original #10" white version for an expensive $25 each. He will be writing himself after he has given them a month's trial. However his first report looks very poor.

The material on the waist band and the pouch is unlike the BIKES that we all like and want to see recovered. He perceives the new materials to be a disappointment rather than an improvement.

I do not need BIKE to resurface, because the GYM JOCK has surpassed them. But it is of deep interest to me that BIKE has come back, and I am anxious to learn the quality of their product. I'm sorry that it doesn't sound good.

Joe Rohrbach, who runs this site, and who is having GYM JOCKS manufactured for us has probably done more than anyone in jockstrap history to respond to the customer feedback of the men who wear jocks. Joe he has made three changes to improve them in respond to us and to the athletes who wear them. We tell him what we need. He gives them to us. I think that the newest pouches are the best and most supportive ever made.

There is a rediscovery of jockstraps today, which we have all longed for, and I think that GYM JOCKS has played the biggest part in this resurgence among athletes and men in general. GYM JOCKS has earned it's place at the top of the list for ball support.

I think that brothers sending in photos of themselves in jocks is good. But I think that some of the disgusting smut photos some guys send in has chased many young athletes away from jockstraps. If we want to see jockstraps become commonplace again, I think we should do our share to help make them look exciting and respectable for the new generation of athletes.

Subject: Bike Brand Is Back
I have not seen any of the new Bike Jocks in my area yet. From the initial reports listed above, I am not too hopeful. I really do not think any companies can replicate the elastic pouches of the original Bile Jockstraps. I think they would if they could, but it is most likely would be cost prohibitive. I also have not tried the GYM jock yet either but do plan n getting a few soon.

As for guys posting "disgusting smut" pictures...those pictures being posted are not going to chase away any man interested in wearing a jockstrap for sports or daily wear if tht is what he really wants to do. Like it or not, many gay men (and some straight men too) have jockstrap fetishes. Those fetishes range from just liking to wear jocks to the pictures of which you speak. To a degree it has been gay men keeping the good old jockstrap alive. Even to this day, the professional and college football players will not wear jocks or jock cups because they say it impedes their running and performance. Its like they are ridiculed if another player sees someone wearing a jockstrap or cup. Even though many have taken knees or cleats to their crotches. Personally, I do not like "well used and dirty" jocks that look like they were used as cum and piss rags and never washed. But to each his own.

What I find more disgusting than those pics is how society portrays jockstraps as something dirty. I had heard years back of people complaining that they could see thru the football players white or yellow pants and see the legs straps of the guys jock and how disgusting it was. Yet we see ads for women's under-garments and ads for tampons and pads. Not too long ago there was a laundry detergent ad for Gain Laundry Detergent showing two young boys digging their dads jockstrap out of his gym bag with a stick and holding it over the napping fathers face. It was not on air for long and never showed in my area of the country. And as I noted on previous threads, on TV sports shows the cameras almost always pan up to avoid showing a mans bulge/crotch...especially in wrestling...but they never refrain from showing a woman's crotch or chest.

I personally think guys stopped wearing jockstraps because people (sports clothing designers) pushed the theory that jockstraps did not offer any more support than regular underwear. For some guys that may be true but for any guys in real contact sports a jock and cup are most important.

Subject: Initial Report - New Bike Jockstrap
Everyone has their own sense of aesthetics. What one find appealing others may find not so. I personally do not find it worthwhile to call out something that does not appeal to our personal taste. I find the practice of labeling someone else’ perspective “disgusting” as off-putting and does not adhere to the community-building aspect.

I did purchase the new BIKE jockstrap out of curiosity. After a few days of wear, I find it to be slightly below par when compared to the new GYM brand for the following reasons:
- the waffle material is not as comfortable as I like and due to the longer pouch, does not fit well for me
- the waist band felt cheap and harsh
- the overall construction felt rushed

I would agree that the GYM brand does keep to what the BIKE brand used to be and hope that it continues.

Hope this helps

Subject: Updated Review - New BIKE Classic 3”
Been heading back to the gym more lately and been trying this new jock for about 2 weeks now. Following observations:

- The new waffle material does not absorb moisture well. After some time on the treadmill, it’s already wet from the sweat (some may find this hot)…
- MAJOR chafing issue from the waffle material to the inner thighs…. OUCH!
- Waistband material is a bit harsh

Good attempt to bring back a classic but the material being majority polyester, could use some modification to cotton. Personally I prefer the GYM brand.

Subject: report on the retro red-blue-yellow 3" jockstrap with the Bike logo
You will immediately see that I do not refer to the garment as the "Bike Jockstrap".

Like "UncutRipeBike", I purchased these jockstraps out of curiosity, and like him, I feel that I must offer the manufacturer encouragement to make significant changes in the fabric and design.

Being an attorney by training, I first would like to know how the manufacturer was able to obtain the copyright for the retro waistband as well as the actual "Bike" logo?

I am a daily runner, and I am also of an age to say that I bought and used the real Bike in the late 1970s-early 1980s, and the current attempt falls short of the mark. Neither the fabric in the waistband nor the fabric in the pouch have any similarity to the original. There is a great difference between rubberized cotton and elastic when compared with polyester.

Like "UncutRipeBike", my first challenge was the waffle material of the pouch. It does not wick away the moisture, and the heat builds up. The pouch is not designed for the safety of the scrotum; to be blunt, my testicles bounce too much inside the pouch, which means that the real reason for wearing a supporter - to protect and to prevent testicular damage - is not the objective. There is excessive chafing to the inner thighs and too much accumulated sweat.

The waistband is rough and actually cuts the skin because it does not bend.
Since I do wash my jockstraps after every use, the fabric does not clean completely, and there is an acrid odour remaining. I attribute it to the high amount of polyester in the fabric.

Finally, I live overseas, and the cost of one jockstrap plus international postage and collected duties totals the equivalent of nearly US$ 35.00. This is not exactly a bargain price.

My intention is not to lambaste the manufacturer, but hopefully to provide constructive critique so that design changes might be implemented. The idea of having the retro coloured waistband is fine, but the waffle pouch has nothing to do with the original Bike.

GYM jockstraps have gone through remarkable upgrades and are superlative, with kudos and thanks.

Let me add that in Europe, the last generation of Bike jockstraps (with the red-white-and blue tracers) was acquired by the German sporting goods consortium, Meyer, and for many years as I traveled, I was able to purchase these solid jockstraps for my daily use. While still expensive, at least the quality of the fabric and the safety/protective design were well worth the price.

In the end, Gentlemen, most of us as still hoping that the 1960s material (rubberized cotton thread) of THE original Bike #10, wheel logo, off-white honeycomb waistband and porous pouch, could be manufactured in a cost-effective manner again. In the meantime, we are grateful for the GYM brand, and hope that the user of the "Bike" logo is able to make significant changes in the quality of the jockstrap.

First, middle, and last, an athletic supporter should be designed to prevent the testicular cords from becoming entangled, and should regulate the heat surrounding the scrotum. The 1960s Bike jockstrap did exactly that, and while I am not a medical professional, I think that several generations of men were well protected because of the attentiveness to the objectives of securing the two testicles and regulating the heat.

Wishing you all the best of health in the midst of the pandemic.

I’ve now had a chance to see, touch and wear the new BIKE jockstraps. I can happily report that their new 2” waistband jockstraps are excellent. I love that the BIKE name on the waistband is symmetrically placed on the waistband because of the way they cut the waistband. The material of the waistband is soft and comfortable and larger than the GYM brand waistband so is even more comfortable for me. The pouch is similar to the GYM 2.0 in that they are not too tall. The stitching that connects the leg straps to the waistband is well done. Overall I give these an A+, however you are paying a premium for these compared with the GYM brand, about twice as much so you could have two GYM jockstraps for the price of one BIKE. I’ve purchased many GYM jockstraps and only this one BIKE.

The 3” BIKE is another story though and I don’t have much positive to say about it. The pouches on the 3” is crazy huge, really really tall. You’d have to be really tall in order for it to work. As a guy with a 29” waist, there is no way I could make it work, the waist would be pulled up way over my navel, it just wouldn’t feel or look sexy.
