Are there any guys who prefer the 6 inch waistband over the 3 inch waistband? Why do you bbn prefer it?

In some of the vintage BIKE package inserts the 6 inch waistband was described as a wrestler's jock. Any wrestlers out there who can explain why a wider waistband is preferential during wrestling? I thought they were more for middle-aged men to hold in their gut while being jocked and playing golf!

I know I got one when I had back issues and it had the picture of a wrestler on the BIKE Jock box. The pouch was shorter than a traditional Bike so you got more abdominal support(lower waistband rode just above your penis) than a regular jock as well as some tension on your midsection. I'm guessing they were attempting to cut down on any hernia issues, but maybe Wildcat will have some input on this. I know after wrestling practice at school I found a few laying around on the locker room floor.

When I was in Army basic training my Sgt. recommended we buy a 6" jock at the PX to wear during long distance ruck marches. I think they were called Bike #9 jocks. He explained that regular jocks put too much compression on your bladder making it harder to reach scheduled piss stops.
