Cutting out lining in McDavid cup jock

Anyone have experience cutting out the inner layer of the jock pouch? Figured it would wear more like a jock than a cup jock with the inner liner removed. The double lining makes is a little tight and restrictive; thought having just the outer layer of the jock would make it more flexible.

I had an XO jock that you could wear with or without the cup and was so advertised. It was ok but you never had any real support other than the center seam trying to divide and conquer your manhood. Stick a cup in it and enjoy!
