Do you prefer a 1 inch, 2 inch or 3 inch waistband for your favorite jockstrap? Why? Is your preference based on use? |

I prefer the 3" since I feel it tends to anchor the pouch and leg straps better. I was never really happy with the 2" Bike and I do have swimmers jockstraps that I do wear under my swimming trunks but that is the only time I wear them. |

I like to wear 1” waistband jockstraps for most everyday wear to work and sleep. If I’m going to be super active, run etc. they I prefer a 2” jocsktrap. 3” waistband are a bit less comfortable for me since I’m not that tall and they mostly ride too high on my waist. That being said, the Omtex 3” and the GYM 2.0 3” sit lower on my waist and I like these. |

Subject: WIDE WAIST BANDS
When I was young I sometimes wore a 6" waist band jock. I folded the top of the waist band down so it varied between 3" and 4". The waist band bunched up. I liked it to stay in place and guarantee that my balls would get lifted. Some guys wore those 6" waist bands. I thought it was a studly look. Guys would take long looks at me when I wore that.
But those went out of style long ago. I have always worn 3" waist bands for the security, and because I think it is a manly look.
To me the 1" swimmers looked more like a posing strap, rather than something an athlete or working man would wear. That was my feeling. The only time I wore a swimmer was over the top of a 3" waistband, "double jocking" to get extra support. The swimmers had shorter pouches, so they were good for double jocking for a hard day's work.
Recently I tried the 2" waist band on the GYM JOCK, gray waist band, with white pouch. I think they look real good...real athletic....high tec. So I am changing my mind.
I am going to buy a bunch of the new 2.0 GYM JOCKS, but I have not decided whether I want to stick with 3" or switch to the new 2". I would be curious to see what looks the most functional or athletic looking in the minds of the younger generations.

As soon as I read the question my initial thought was 3", definitely 3".
But to be honest I go back and forth from 3" to 2" in preference. I don't think I would ever want anything but a 3" for football, it just sets under your pants waist and pads better. I did wear those with the hip and tail pads attached some though and they are 2" usually.
Like Strapped Wrangler said, a 3" is a manly look. A 1" just doesn't look athletic at all. I see pics sometimes of guys in a locker room in 1" jocks and I immediately disregard it knowing its fake. Guys of any number never would be in a locker room in narrow band jockstraps. Maybe 1 or 2 runners or something but not "real athletes" as some would put it. I'm not saying runners aren't athletes but just not known for being locker room athletes like football and wrestling and more team oriented and jock wearing athletes.
Some of our moves in wrestling and positions we are kind of leaning or bent over, some of the 3" want to fold over at the top of the waist, especially at practice when we are prone to just be wearing shorts or spandex and no shirt or top of any kind. I have found myself migrating to the 2" sometimes for practice if I don't remember that the 3" I grabbed doesn't do that. |

I grew up wearing a traditional white 3 in waistband jockstrap. I like the comfort and security of the wide waistband and it will always be what I relate to a manly or athletic guy. As a lot of manufactures, including Bike went to 2 in waist jocks and I adjusted to the smaller 2 in waistbands. I wear jockstraps daily as underwear and will wear both 2 & 3 in waist jocks, but prefer a 3 inch when i'm wearing a cup. |

I agree that a 3" strap tends to be the most masculine and it is what a jock wears. Maybe it is because I when I graduated from a "Youth" jockstrap all were 3" straps. I never really liked the 2" Bike jockstraps since they did offer support and moved around too much. Thankfully they did bring back the 3" jock just before they went away. I was not happy with McDavid shrinking their waistband to 2.5" since it reminded me of a "Youth" jock and I am an adult. However, they are not bad. A cup always needs to be a 3" waistband even if you double strap. |

A great looking jock is the GYM JOCK 2.0, 2" waist, with the gray waist band and red pouch. I look great in it.
Joe told me that all the GYM JOCKS (of the same size) have the same sized pouch whether they have the 1", 2" or 3" waistband. Years ago the swimmers had shorter pouches, which was one reason to buy them.
However a size MEDIUM jock will have a little longer everything, including a longer pouch, than the SMALL. And size LARGE will be larger everywhere, including the pouch.
Keep in mind that the new GYM JOCKS 2.0 have snugger pouches like the old days, and more waist band; and they cost more than the old stock. That is worth it for me to get the old time BIKE fit, that the new GYM JOCK 2.0 has.

I prefer a 3 inch waistband on a regular jockstrap. Of course the old style Bike 10's with the 3 inch waistband will always be my all time favorite. But, I also like the 1 inch waistband on a good swimmers jock. The newer jockstraps with thinner waist band are okay...it just seems to me they are thinner so they can be cheaper to manufacture. |

n2jocks. Now that you mention it I agree with you on the 1" swimmers/joggers jockstrap. I thought it was just me but it does feel like the 1" jock has shrunk in waistband height. I only have them for pool time and give the level of chlorine they put into the pools the jockstraps get destroyed. But the newer Bike jockstraps I have it almost feels like the leg straps are bigger then the waistband. |

Yeah packedstrap- I agree. I wear those jocks just for the pool too, and the waistband seems super thin. I think I have a pic uploaded of me wearing it |

Some of the 90's version swimmer jocks had only a 1/2 inch waistband and wider back straps. This was when they were all white. I prefer the swimmer bands for sleeping or under swim trunks, the 2 inch for general daily wear and the 3 inch for when I need a little more back support. With a bit of a belly you get a little waistband roll with the wider bands. |

Subject: 3" vs. 1"
Gym closed, so I've been running on a rented treadmill at home in only socks, shoes, and either of two jockstraps I'm ripening. Sometimes also a shirt I'm ripening for my man, to keep under his pillow.
Gotta say, the 1" "new" Bike swimmer offers very little support - probably nice rubbing if you had a hardon? The 3" Duke has a tighter pouch and feels so good. The waistband does tend to fold over, but I'm hoping to lose more weight so that it will stay flat.
Will try the 3" Champion next.... |

I like all three for a variety of reasons. half inch swimmer is OK for lounging around the house or sleeping in. 1 inch for swimming casually. 2 inch when I run on the tread mill or sometimes swimming, and 3inch when I am playing rugby or showing off in the gym locker room. |
