Subject: jockstraps in the movies
Rob Lowe in his jock in Youngblood is classic. I recently watched Game of Death, featuring Bruce Lee in that infamous yellow jumpsuit, which to my surprise, was see thru. Bruce is clearly wearing a jockstrap underneath, and Kareems shorts are so short you can see the leg straps of his jock. Other than these examples, does anyone know of any good jockstrap sightings in the movies? |

Subject: Revenge of the Nerds
Two locker room scenes. The first, as the football team is stripping out of gear, and one of the players taunts the nerd towel boy, "Hey, do you know Karate?" And the nerd says, "No". At which point, the player slides his sweaty jockstrap over the nerd's head, nose and mouth.
In the same movie, the nerds take revenge on the football team by gathering all of their Bike jockstraps, piling them on the floor, and then applying a bottle of "prickly heat" to all of the pouches. The next day, as the team is listening to the coach, the heat index rises, and one by one, the players reach down and (surprisingly since many players do not wear them), yank their cups out and throw them on the field. They all scurry off because of the heat balm saturating their jock pouches. |

In the pool scene where the caddies take over the pool, one of the guys strips down to a jockstrap and jumps in and out of the pool. Its a shane it is always edited out of the TV versions. |

Old 80's movie about a girl who pretends to be a boy and goes to a new high school There is a great locker room scene with lots of jockstraps. You can find a clip on youtube. Funny scene with the PE teacher too. |

Subject: Movie Unbroken
Jockstraps.com sold over $1000 worth of Duke jocks to Angelina Jolie for the movie Unbroken. Unfortunately the scene never made it into the movie...at least I didn't see any jocks in the movie. |

Certainly the various running and racing scenes may have required wearing jockstraps, though it raises an interesting historic point: how prevalent was the use of jockstraps in the 1930s, and particularly in the context of the Berlin Olympics? Does someone know the details - it would be very interesting to learn about the use of jockstraps by the USA Team at that time.
On a much darker side, many of the photographs of prisoners of war interned and abused by the Japanese depict nearly naked, emaciated former British and Commonwealth soldiers. Working under brutal conditions - see "The Railway Man" for a horrifying depiction of the treatment - many of the POW's either lost or chose not to wear excessive clothing in the tropical heat and humidity. Instead, they wore a make-shift loin-cloth which also resembled a jockstrap, and was sometimes called a "Singapore sling" because so many of the British captives had been taken prisoner during the Japanese invasion of Singapore.
So, I wonder whether the costume department was going to attempt to replicate the loin-cloth? On the other hand, the movie clearly indicated that the soldiers were sent by ship to the colder climate of Japan where extra coats, not jockstraps, would be required.
If someone could respond regarding the use of jockstraps during the pre-WW2 Olympics, it would be appreciated. |

Good memory, IntoBikes, Lou Diamond Phillips was changing in the locker room while he was being interviewed. I spent many a night pausing that scene!
Also, in the movie Major League, there is a character in a jockstrap in the locker room scene. In the movie "Remember the Titans", you can absolutely see some of the football players straps through their football pants in the workout scenes where they are shuffling. |

Subject: Jockstraps In Movies
OK so last night I was searching for something to watch. On the morning news they kept on talking about "THE KISSING BOOTH" which is a Netflix movie. What struck me as interesting is it was made in 2018 and there were jockstraps. A girl wakes up in a football player's bedroom and sees his jockstrap which looks like a 3" McDavid and his cup. What I found funny is the cup had XL on it. There was a locker room scene with a couple of straps showing. But what I really like is the girl had to hide under the bed. She saw his jar of lube, a porno mage and you could see the waistband of a jockstrap. So does the dude strap up when he rubs one off? I just found it interesting how a movie from 2018 had so many shots of what appears to be a regular jockstrap. |

Any publicity is good publicity! We'll take any public awareness of jockstraps. Too bad the Gain commercial flamed out so quickly. Probably complaints from psycho helicopter moms got the commercial canned. A good SNL skit would be a mock of the ad, but instead, a football jock taking a big whiff of his jock in the locker room, liking what he smelled, and saying, "A couple more practices, THEN it will be time for Gain." |
